CLEVELAND -- Police have charged the truck driver whose dump truck struck the pedestrian bridge on I-90.
Police charged Michael Edwards, 35, with two counts of failure to control, driving an unsafe vehicle and shifting loose loads.
I-90 eastbound and westbound was closed Saturday morning after a dump truck with a raised trailer crashed into a pedestrian bridge above the interstate.
The accident happened on the I-90 westbound lanes between E. 260th Street and E. 152nd Street around 6:45 a.m Saturday.
Police say the truck from Big Blue Trucking out of Warren, Ohio, was traveling with a raised trailer when it hit the bridge.
After hitting the bridge, the truck then rolled over. Unsafe conditions forced the Ohio Department of Transportation to bring in cranes to dismantle the pedestrian bridge that was damaged.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was also a part of the investigation.
