CANTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A Canton Township family escaped a fire in their home early Friday morning, but the family dog did not survive, a family member said.
The fire was reported around 2 a.m. at Ridge Avenue SE and 48th Street SE, fire officials said.
Flames were out quickly because a fire station was only blocks away from the home.
The family and pet cats escaped the fire, but the family dog did not, a family member told Channel 3 News.
A cause of the fire was not available.
