WELLINGTON, New Zealand -- "Argo" mentions New Zealand just once in passing. But the reference is rankling Kiwis five months after the Oscar-winning film was released in the South Pacific nation.

Even Parliament has expressed its dismay, passing a motion stating director Ben Affleck "saw fit to mislead the world about what actually happened."

The movie says diplomats from Britain and New Zealand turned away six Americans who escaped the besieged U.S. Embassy during Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Published interviews indicate diplomats from Britain and New Zealand did help the Americans, though ultimately Canada was left to shoulder the biggest risk by taking them in long-term.
