CLEVELAND -- A North Ridgeville man who pleaded guilty to charges he brought weapons into a showing of the latest Batman movie has been sentenced.
A judge sentenced Scott A. Smith to six months in jail and gave him credit for 20 days already served.
Smith pleaded guilty to two charges of carrying a concealed weapon back in February. A judge acquitted him on a third charge of having a weapon under disability.
Police arrested Smith at a Westlake showing of the "Dark knight Rises" on August 4, 2012 with a loaded gun, ammo and knives.
His attorney says Smith had the weapons for protection in case someone tried to copy the Colorado theater shooting that left 12 dead.
