Step into a practice for the Singing Angels and you'll quickly understand where they get their name from.

The youth choir belts out songs with passion and enthusiasm, and brings about celestial sounds.

Founded in 1964 by Bill Boehm, the Singing Angels Youth Choir attracts some of the area's best young singers.

"We share the same interests here," says Val Polinko, a sophomore at Holy Name. "Everybody loves to sing. They have a lot of talent."

The talent ranges in age from elementary to high school students.

"You make so many friends," says fifth-grader Jessica Pregazier. "You get to do so many cool things. It's just really fun."

Being in the Singing Angels involves practice four times a week, upwards of 100 performances a year and travel around town and the world. The choir has performed in nearly 50 countries, including China, England, Turkey and Italy.

Wherever the Singing Angels take their talents, the mission remains the same: to make music, make friends and make a difference.
