SHAKER HEIGHTS -- RTA Driver Artis Hughes, 59, seen punching passenger Shi'dea Lane, 25, in a video that went viral changed his plea from "not guilty" to "no contest" Tuesday morning in Shaker Heights Municipal Court.

The judge immediately found him guilty.

His case was sent to the probation department for a recommended sentence, which could be up to six months in jail, five years of probation and a $1,000 fine.

RTA spokeswoman Mary Shaffer said back in October that the fight happened on the No. 5 bus in Beachwood on Sept. 18, but that RTA did not view the video until Oct. 11.

RTA then immediately suspended Hughes and then fired him. The Cleveland RTA union representative was in court with Hughes Tuesday morning.

Back in October, Hughes' and Lane's encounter ended up on the Internet where it clearly showed Hughes delivering an "uppercut" to Lane because Lane allegedly wouldn't pay her fare.

Lane was charged with disorderly conduct.
