ELYRIA -- Two women face heroin posssession charges after troopers stopped their GMC Envoy on the Ohio Turnpike mid-afternoon Wednesday.
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 390 grams of heroin, worth more than $58,000 during the traffic stop.
Troopers stopped a 2007 GMC Envoy, with Pennsylvania registration, for a marked lanes violation at 3:43 p.m. on April 10.
Troopers said "criminal indicators" were observed and a patrol drug-sniffing K-9 alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the heroin.
Bernadette McClain, 36, and Chelsea Page, 23, both of Pennsylvania, were taken to the Lorain County Jail and charged with possession of heroin, a first-degree felony.
If convicted, both could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.
