Akron: Family escapes overnight house fire

AKRON, Ohio -- A family of three escaped a house fire southeast of the Akron Central Interchange early Tuesday morning.

The fire was first reported at about 12:40 a.m. on McKinley Avenue, just east of Inman Street.

Two adults and one child are being sheltered by Red Cross for the night.

It only took 13 minutes from the time firefighters were dispatched to the time the fire was extinguished.

Fire officials are investigating.
