Geauga County: Crash kills 16-year-old driver

THOMPSON TOWNSHIP -- Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on'State Route 52S at the intersection of Moseley Road at about 8:12 a.m. Tuesday.

A 1999 Mack cement truck was southbound on State Route 528. A 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier was eastbound on Moseley Road and failed to yield from the stop sign at State Route 528.

The 1999 Mack struck the 2002 Chevrolet, forcing both vehicles off the east side of State Route 52S.

The cement truck was driven by Brian E. Shank, 61, of Painesville, and he was taken to Madison Hospital by Thompson EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

Shank was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The Cavalier was driven by Amanda L. Kamposek, 16, of Madison, and she was pronounced dead on the scene by the Geauga County Coroner's Office.

Kamposek was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.   Alcohol is not a factor in the crash and the crash remains under investigation.
