TORONTO -- BlackBerry expects a new version of its smartphone with a physical keyboard will be available in the U.S. by the end of May.
The company said Tuesday that all four major U.S. carriers will carry the Q10.
It is available May 1 in Canada.
A delay in selling the new QWERTY keyboard-equipped Q10 has complicated BlackBerry's efforts to hang on to customers attracted by Apple's iPhone, devices running Google's Android system and the emerging Windows Phone devices.
Many users have stayed loyal because they prefer a physical keyboard over the touchscreen-only experience of the iPhone and most Android devices.
The new BlackBerry 10 software powering the company's new smartphones has garnered very favorable reviews.
The full touchscreen BlackBerry Z10 smartphone launched in the U.S. last month.
