GREEN CREEK TOWNSHIP -- A 7-year-old girl was one of two people seriously hurt in an ATV crash on Sunday.

The Fremont Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol says the accident took place near County Road 117 just east of Route 101 in Sandusky County.

Authorities say both people involved were thrown from the 2009 Kawasaki KFX700 when the driver lost control in a field and overturned at approximately 8:46 p.m.

28-year-old Kristi Ely of Green Springs and the 7-year-old girl from Bellevue were each taken via LifeFlight to Toledo St. Vincent Hospital.

Neither was reportedly wearing a helmet.

The ATV sustained moderate damage as a result of the crash.

The incident is currently under investigation.
