CLEVELAND -- A pair of women from Cleveland now have answers about what happened to their daughters.
Their connection centered around what happened to their daughters. Their children were the victims in two separate cases that proved to be among the city's longest unsolved cases.
On Tuesday when Cleveland Police announced an arrest in the murder of 14-year-old Gloria Pointer, Yvonne Pointer finally had an answer as to who may have killed her daughter.
Gloria was kidnapped, raped, and murdered in 1984. Recent DNA testing pointed to a registered sex offender.
Police will release more details about the suspect Tuesday afternoon. Last week Nancy Ruiz welcomed her daughter, Gina DeJesus, back into her home after she was kidnapped back in 2004. (Gina's Timeline)
WKYC uncovered archive video from more than a year ago when these two women were in our studio. Yvonne and Nancy talked to WKYC in 2012 about hope and strength.
