NEW YORK -- After weeks of intense competition, country star Trace Adkins was crowned champion of NBC's "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice."

Host and executive producer Donald Trump selected Adkins as the winner over magician Penn Jillette.

"We had the All-Star players this season and Trace clearly demonstrated that he has what it takes to be a winner," Trump says. "As our new Celebrity Apprentice, he proved to have the winning strategy throughout the intense schedule and tough boardrooms."

For winning the season, Adkins' designated charity -- the American Red Cross -- was given $250,000. Throughout the entire season, Adkins raised a total of $1,554,072 for the American Red Cross.

"Sometimes in life we begin a task wondering if it's the right thing to do," Adkins says. "Tonight, I can proudly say that competing on the show a second time ended up being a very good thing. I was honored to play for the American Red Cross -- they came to my family's aid when we needed them and I am a man who repays my debts."

Rapper Lil John was rewarded with $100,000 to be donated to the American Diabetes Association, his chosen charity, after being named the fan-favorite contestant.

Overall, the show raised $3,332,000 for various charities. The cast also included Marilu Henner, LaToya Jackson, Claudia Jordan, Omarosa, Lisa Rinna, Brande Roderick, Stephen Baldwin, Gary Busey, Bret Michaels, Dennis Rodman and Dee Snider.

Others who have won "Celebrity Apprentice" include Piers Morgan, Joan Rivers, Bret Michaels, John Rich and Arsenio Hall.
