BRUNSWICK -- All Brunswick City School District elementary and middle schools remain closed until after Memorial Day.

This is due to an outbreak of the norovirus.

The district's website had this message:

"In order to stay cautious and put the health of our students first, and after consultation with the Medina Co. Board of Health, we have decided to close all Elementary and Middle schools in the BCSD for the remainder of the week. Brunswick High School will remain open during this time, as it has not experienced drops in attendance. We are confident classes and activities will resume next Tuesday, May 28 (after Memorial Day)."

The district also sent out a phone alert Monday afternoon to students' homes.

Schools are expected to reopen May 28.
