CLEVELAND -- Tackling a serious social issue, Senior Health Correspondent Monica Robins was honored Monday at the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board of Cuyahoga County.
She was honored for her work on the special "Heroin: Old Drug, Killer New Epidemic" that aired on Channel 3 last month. A shortened version will air starting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (May 25).
The powerful heroin documentary started conversations and now things are moving on the legislative end.
The documentary received such a tremendous reaction that now an educational version is being used in 350 Northeast Ohio schools.
In addition, Ohio lawmakers have taken notice and at least one piece of legislation has been introduced in the Ohio House that would expand access to Naloxone, the drug that can stop an overdose and save lives.
