CLEVELAND -- Eight people have been taken into custody after a large fight outside Michael R. White School.
The fight followed a Kindergarten graduation. The altercation did not impact the ceremony.
Those arrested face potential charges of aggravated rioting. No students at the school were involved in the fight.
Police say the dispute started between two teenage girls and that the fight continued and involved adults when the parties were outside the building.
Officials say there were no guns involved in the fight. Police confiscated a hammer and a stick but say neither was used in the altercation. Police in a written release say they were initially called to respond to a call for shots fired. But those initial reports proved to be false. No one was hurt.
The school is located on East 92nd Street. It has students ranging in age from pre-Kindergarten to eighth grade.
