ATLANTA - Newlywed meteorologists Mike Bettes and Allison Chinchar reflect on chasing storms in an interview with our sister station WXIA-TV in Atlanta after Mike's near-death experience Friday while tornado chasing.

Bettes is part of the Weather Channel's "Tornado Hunt" chase team.

The SUV that Mike was riding in was blown off the road and thrown 200 yards by a tornado in El Reno, Oklahoma. The storm chasers received only minor injuries.

According to a Weather Channel spokesperson, Friday's incident was the first time any of the Weather Channel's storm chasing teams have been injured while covering severe weather events.
