AKRON -- A Summit County jury found a man guilty of dragging a woman down the street in a fit of road rage.
Laray Carlisle, 37, of Garfield Heights, was waiting behind a taxi that was trying to turn left onto South Main Street July 24 in Akron.
Carlisle impatiently honked his horn and yelled at the female driver of the taxi in front of him as she attempted to make a left-hand turn onto South Main Street in Akron, according to the Summit County Prosecutor.
Before the woman could turn, Carlisle bumped the cab's rear bumper. The driver of the taxi checked out the damage and called police, but Carlisle hit the taxi's bumper again.
The taxi driver dropped her phone in Carlisle's car while she was trying to get his license and insurance information.
That's when Carlisle grabbed her arm and hit the gas, dragging the woman for about a block, prosecutors said.
Carlisle smashed her phone before he drove away. The cab driver suffered concussion-like symptoms and bruises all over her body.
On Tuesday, Carlisle was found guilty of felonious assault and will be sentenced July 3.
