CLEVELAND --  A man who failed to show up on Monday to carry out a public portion of a punishment handed out by Judge Pinkey Carr found out firsthand this morning exactly how displeased the judge was with his choice.

Judge Carr scolded Richard Dameron, 58, for several minutes in court when he showed up for a hearing. The hearing was scheduled after Dameron skipped out on his order to carry a sign outside the Second District police station on Monday.

"Mr. Dameron, you don't know me, but I don't play.  When I tell you to do something, it is an order," said Judge Carr.   "You will stand in front of that Second District police station and I mean it.  You offended this community.  You offended those police officers and you are going to apologize for it."

Judge Carr's said in court when her bailiff found Dameron later on Monday he found him under the influence. Carr says Dameron told her bailiff he wasn't going to carry the sign and he could do "another 90 days."

Judge Carr then sentenced Dameron to 90 additional days in jail.

Speaking directly to Dameron in court Judge Carr said, "I was thinking of making it 30 or 60 but since you said you can do 90, 90 it will be.  I'm like Burger King.  You can have it your way."

She then ordered him to once again wear a sign describing his 'idiot' actions outside the Second District police station the week of September 2-6 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. each day.

Carr told Dameron she will personally take him to the location herself if necessary to serve out that portion of the sentence.

Judge Carr originally sentenced Dameron in March to hold the sign apologizing to police for making threatening and harassing 911 calls to officers.

The sign reads in part: "I apologize to Officer Simone and all police officers for being an idiot calling 911 and threatening to kill you. It will never happen again."

Carr also told Dameron that she made the sign herself on Memorial Day and that if he can't carry it, he can wear it.
