CAPTIVA ISLAND, Fla. -- Shark! Most people would swim away as fast as they can.
Not this guy.
Video from Saturday shows 19-year-old Chris Kreis latching onto the back of a whale shark's dorsal fin and riding along with the 30-foot, 50,000 pound animal in the Gulf of Mexico.

The ride was short-lived, lasting about 10 seconds.
Some marine biologists are not enthused by the incident. They say the shark could have attacked Kreis and that human contact can potentially harm the fish by removing part of its protective coat.
Whale sharks feed mostly on plankton.
