CHESTER TOWNSHIP --  It wasn't exactly the image a homeowner was expecting to see on a surveillance system.

But last night, a resident on Chillicothe Road spotted a black bear on a camera mounted in their driveway.

On the tape, you can see the bear walk towards the road but it is frightened by an oncoming car and runs back into the yard.

The animal then makes a second attempt to cross the road and just narrowly misses getting hit by a car.

No one was hurt.

It's the latest in a series of black bear sightings in Northeast Ohio including those in Bath, Montville and Stow.  Black bears are not uncommon in Ohio.

Wildlife experts remind people to keep their distance from the bear as they could become aggressive if they feel threatened or cornered.
