The Denis Sullivan is a re-creation of a 19th century Great Lakes schooner. Not only is it the official flagship of Wisconsin but it also a floating science classroom.

Senior Capt. Tiffany Krihwan - Denis Sullivan

"Our mission is fresh water awareness. 20% of the world fresh water is right here at our back door in the Great Lakes. And we we teach to every one whether it's younger people or older people... just the issues that threaten the Great Lakes, invasive species, the sustainability of the Great Lakes. Not just for our drinking water, or bathing water, but through industries use of water."

"It's two-fold in the pilot house. It is were we navigate the ship when we are under way. It's also our laboratory were we take our water quality samples and give then a better look through microscopes and see what's in the bottom of our lake or what's floating around in our lakes."
