The Sorlandet was built in Kristiansand and launched in 1927. She was designed as a training vessel for young naval cadets and continues that mission of teaching today.

Capt. Bjarke Wahlqvist - Sorlandet
"We can't sail the ship without the trainees actually. We need the power. We also need them to go aloft."

The Sorlandet sails to twenty ports on four continents, taking high school students on an adventure. The ship is the oldest full-rigged ship in the world still in regular use.

Capt. Bjarke Wahlqvist - Sorlandet
"They can expect to see an old beautiful lady from 1927 that is well kept and is kept in very antithetic way. We try to keep all the work on board as it was in 1927."
