CLEVELAND -- The 2013 National Senior Games kick off in Cleveland on Friday, July 19.

More than 10,000 athletes will compete in 19 different sports.

The athletes, ages 50 and older, are expected to bring their fans and some big money to the Cleveland area.

The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission estimates the games will bring 28,000 people to the area and $35 Million during the two week event.

The National Senior Games will be the single largest visitor event in Cleveland this year.

The games begin with an opening festival on July 19 at the Convention Center mall starting at 4:30 p.m. It will include music, food and a torch-lighting ceremony.

All of the events are free.
