More than 1 million people have found beauty, inspiration and magical moments in the Glasshouse; and the Garden is commemorating its 10th anniversary in a big wayDesigned by famed architect Graham Gund, the Glasshouse spans 18,000 square feet and is made up of 3,400 pieces of glass and 738,000 pounds of steel. It's one of the only conservatories in the country to feature two distinct biomes under one roof -the rainforest of Costa Rica and the spiny desert of Madagascar.

In addition to hundreds of species of rare and exotic plants, the Glasshouse is home to a collection of creatures from leaf-cutter ants and radiated tortoises to brightly colored birds and hundreds of butterflies.
