St. Ignatius High School head football coach Chuck Kyle was among a select group of gridiron experts asked to take a leadership role with USA Football's Heads Up Program.
Kyle and the other invitees were certified as Heads Up Football Master Trainers during a two-day seminar in Indianapolis in March.
The four pillars of the Heads Up Football initiative are coaching education, concussion recognition and response, tackling technique and equipment.
In addition to educating players and coaches across the region about USA Football's Heads Up tackling technique, as WKYC's Maureen Kyle reported in a story that aired last week, the Wildcats coach has also discussed the topic of depicting safer tackling in video games with employees of EA Sports, the maker of the popular "Madden NFL Football" franchise.
With our camera rolling, Kyle demonstrated the tackling technique, which teaches players to keep their heads up and out of the line of contact. Watch the above video to see the demonstration.
