Castro is serving a life prison term plus 1,000 years. He pleaded guilty on July 26 to more than 900 charges of kidnap, rape and aggravated murder in order to avoid a possible death penalty.
Castro kidnapped Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight and held them captive in his Seymour Avenue home for a decade. The women were rescued on May 6.

As part of the plea agreement, Castro signed over the house at 2207 Seymour Avenue. Crews demolished the house yesterday, wiping it from view in about an hour's time. The community will reuse the space, possibly as a park or garden.
