"Hey, it's Fred!"
Lucas Cruikshank skyrocketed to viral video stardom several years back with his high-pitched, squeakily fast-chatting Fred character.
Now, the YouTube-turned-Nickelodeon star is a trending topic after coming out as gay in his latest video (watch it below).
In the video posted Tuesday, Cruikshank is answering various fan-submitted questions with his friend. Midway through the video, Cruikshank openly answers the question: Are you gay?
"I'm gay," he says.
Cruikshank, who turns 20 later this month, says it's something people in his personal life have been aware of.
"My family and friends have known for like three years, I just haven't felt the need to announce it on the Inernet."
Within a few hours of its posting, Cruikshank's coming out video was viewed nearly 500,000 times on YouTube.
