CLEVELAND -- An east side property owner was arrested Saturday after killing a prospective tenant during an altercation.
Police received a call for a shooting at 1231 E. 61st Street around 1:00 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man who was stabbed.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS workers.
Police say the property owner was showing the victim living space at the property. At some point, the two got into an altercation. A shot was fired, but no one was hit. The owner then stabbed the victim.
The owner, who remains unidentified, was taken to University Hospital for treatment of his injuries before he was taken into custody.
The Homicide Unit and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office continue to investigate the incident.
