PLEASANT TOWNSHIP, OH -- A 22-year-old man died Saturday in a three vehicle crash after running into the car in front of him. The accident happened around 6:43 p.m.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kurtis Morgan was headed north on State Route 53 near mile post 15 on a Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
The driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee slowed down in front of Morgan, however he failed to stop. He ran into the back of the Jeep and was ejected from his motorcycle into the opposite traffic lane.
Morgan was struck by the driver of a Ford F-150 who then went off the westbound side of the roadway.
Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency workers.
Preliminary investigation reveals that Morgan failed to maintain a safe distance between himself and the car in front of him.
Highway Patrol closed the road for 3 hours while on scene.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. Morgan was not wearing a helmet.
