CLEVELAND -- Cleveland police officers, firefighters and the bomb squad rescued three children from a home where a math lab was found early Thursday morning.
Police received a call overnight for children left in a home in the 1700 block of Spring Road with meth and related materials, police said.
Once inside the multi-resident home, officers discovered a backpack in a common hallway with the bottom burned out and a black substance on the floor around it.
They suspected it was a substance consistent with the production of methamphetamine and removed the children from the house.
Police called in the Cleveland Bomb Squad and Fire Department.
Bomb Squad workers identified the substances as meth-making ingredients.
No arrests have been made as investigators work to determine who the backpack belonged to.
