For now, the Cleveland Browns have no kicker but that will change soon. After being cut by the New England Patriots, could Tim Tebow end up with the Buffalo Bills?
It was a wild "cut down" Saturday in the NFL and there were some surprises but maybe the biggest surprises are yet to come. If you have faith in Browns Coach Rob Chudzinski, someone will fill former Browns kicker Phil Dawson's shoes sooner rather than later.
But let's start with Tebow. He was cut by the New England Patriots Saturday and can be claimed by any team on waivers and his salary isn't exorbitant. The Buffalo Bills are home next Sunday for their opener and they will welcome (?) the Pats.
For right now, the Bills have two quarterbacks on their roster. Both are rookies, one is injured. And who knows the Pats better than Tebow right now...and he's available.
As far as the Browns, having cut both of their kickers, they are out looking.
On Saturday they were deciding between veteran Shayne Graham and rookie Brandon Bogotay. In the end, they cut both of them.
As of 3 p.m. Sunday, available kickers include Dan Carpenter, Neil Rackers, Billy Cundiff and -- if the Browns really want to it up shake up Sundays -- Havard "Kickalicious" Rugland.
Next Sunday the Browns open at home against the Miami Dolphins and we will have a kicker. I'm guessing it will be Cundiff but "Kickalicious" would be interesting.
What is more interesting is that the Browns host the Buffalo Bills Oct. 3. If Tebow happens to be a member of the team, no way will I miss that game.
Teams are already making moves Sunday afternoon and many more moves will follow. Stay tuned.
