BAY VILLAGE -- A driver was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence after handing a Bay Village police officer a Giant Eagle Advantage card instead of his driver's license.
Just before 6 p.m. Sept. 2, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Road near Longbeach Parkway for a traffic violation.
After being asked for his driver's license, the driver, 42, handed the officer his Giant Eagle Advantage Card.
Field sobriety tests were administered and, as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI. He faced charges in the Rocky River Municipal Court for OVI and other traffic offenses.
