SOLON -- Last Wednesday, the owner of the Solon Motel contacted police to report that a guest staying in Room 5 was behind in his payments and was refusing to leave.
The motel owner, 64, also informed police that the guest had contacted the State Fire Marshal, requesting that they inspect the premises.
During their inspection, personnel from the state fire marshal's office discovered bed bugs and a disconnected smoke alarm in Room 5.
Police spoke with the homeless man, 53, who admitted that he was behind on payments and that he called the fire marshal in retaliation for being evicted.
He was told to stay off the motel's property or he would be arrested for criminal trespass.
