HUNTSBURG TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- One man died and another was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated in Geauga County Tuesday evening.
A Dodge Dakota driven by Jacob Cochran, 34, of Roaming Shores, Ohio, was headed east on U.S. 322 around 6:51 p.m.
A Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Gary Swontek, 64, of Middlefield, did not yield to the Cochran's vehicle at the intersection at U.S. 322 and Clay Street. The Dakota struck the Cavalier as it drove through the intersection.
Swontek was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing his seatbelt.
Cochran was wearing his seatbelt and did not suffer any injuries. He was arrested for OVI and taken to Geauga Hospital for a blood test. The results of the test is not available.
Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating.
