SOLON -- Police did not say if he was ordering a Whopper or Satisfries but they did say a Moreland Hills man was intoxicated in the middle of the afternoon one day last week.
Police were called to Burger King on Aurora Road on a complaint that a driver was having difficulty navigating the drive-thru lane and producing the correct change to purchase the food he had ordered.
The responding officer smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle.
The driver, identified as Michael Howser, 50, of Moreland Hills, performed field sobriety tests, including a portable Intoxilizer, which resulted in a reading of .184 BAC.
He was placed under arrest for OVI and taken to the Solon Jail. At the jail, Howser submitted to a breath test which registered a .175 percent BAC, more than twice the .08 legal limit.
He was held on bond.
