The women are all guests of the Great Lakes Consortium for Training and Development. They were staying at the Radisson hotel in the Gateway District. As their luggage was being loaded in the valet zone, a thief drove off with their van and most of their belongings. “I can’t believe this,” said victim Nargis Shearzad. “It’s very sad for us.” Each of the women had handmade crafts and were looking for retail opportunities here in Ohio. The products, which included tapestries and jewelry, are gone. They’re valued at over $20,000. The vehicle that was taken with all of their belongings is a white '99 Dodge van. It has dealer plates with a small 17 and then 6885. If you have information you're asked to call police. And if you have an interest in helping out these women you can contact the mayor's office at 216-664-2900.
