The volunteers, including teens from Ellet High School, began an expansion project at the home of Andy Holcomb.
The 20-year-old lost his entire lower body last year in an industrial accident. Now, the push is on to expand the family home to meet Andy’s special needs.
“It’s why I was one of the first to volunteer,” said junior Joe Coromer. “As soon as I heard I could help somebody out, especially somebody who needs so much help, it’s the least I could do.”
Contractors will break ground Monday on the expansion, which will allow Andy to lift himself to move around.
