Keith Green, who was twice named Channel 3's Fugitive of the Week, was captured in suburban Cleveland Tuesday night after a two county chase.
Green was arrested about 9:15 p.m. in an Asian buffet restaurant on Warren Road, after leading authorities from Lake County to Lakewood.
"Quick work by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force got a dangerous fugitive off the streets today," said David Siler, Deputy U.S. Marshal.
"We got a tip that Green was working at a location in Concord Township in Lake County," explained Siler. "He was working as a laborer."
As Task Force members closed in, Green took off. He ran and eventually stole a car in Lake County. Green made his way west to Lakewood, where he ditched the car on Winton Avenue.
When the car was discovered, the Task Force was again in pursuit of Keith Green. He ran through parts of Lakewood, and as Task Force members and Lakewood Police combed the city, an alert deputy spotted him in a restaurant.
Green was taken into custody, and will face federal and local charges. He was originally wanted for a violent assault in Ashtabula County.
The U.S. Marshal's Fugitive of the Week program offers cash rewards for information that leads to the capture of violent fugitives such as Keith Green.
