Cleveland teen gets 18 years for shooting of fellow teen

CLEVELAND -- An 18-year-old Cleveland man was sentenced to 18 years in prison Monday in the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy.

A jury convicted Evontae Williams of two counts of murder and two counts of felonious assault in January. He was 17 at the time of the murder.

Williams shot Kortez McRae at a house party on East 66th Street, near Superior Avenue in Cleveland on March 24, 2013, as McRae was getting into his car to leave the house.

Williams was charged in juvenile court before moving to adult court back in June.
