Lorain | Credit union robbed, gunman on the loose

LORAIN -- The FBI is looking for a man who robbed a Lorain credit union at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon.

The man entered the Commstar Community Star Credit Union at 5609 West Erie Ave. about 5 p.m. armed with a handgun. He ordered bank employees to lie on the floor and then instructed them to go into a back room, according to the FBI.

No one was injured, and the man was seen fleeing on foot.

He is described as a Hispanic male, about 5-foot-6 and 30 years old with a medium build. He had on a blue coat, blue jeans, a ski mask and hooded sweatshirt and spoke with a thick accent. Surveillance photos are not available at this time.

Reward money is available for information leading to the man's identity and prosecution. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI or Lorain police at (440) 204-2100.
