BRATENAHL -- The police department is asking for the public's help in solving the brutal hit-skip accident that occurred on Sunday, Dec. 22.
The composite sketch of the suspect is based on eyewitness description. The suspect is described as a white man in his 30's-40's, and average height and weight.
His vehicle is a light-colored, full-sized pickup truck.
The victim was Gwendolyn "Pinky" Young, 27, of South Euclid, who was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center that night.
Young was in the car with her mother when they were struck in a minor head on collision on the Eddy Road overpass Dec. 22.
Witnesses say Young approached the driver of the truck responsible for the wreck. When the man attempted to drive away, witness reports say she jumped on the driver's side of the truck bed and was still holding on as the truck continued down the ramp on Interstate 90 East.
Then the man stopped, got out of his truck and assaulted Young, knocking her to the ground. He then drove away, running over Young as he left the scene, police said.
Anyone with any information is urged to call the Bratenahl Police Department at 216-681-1234, or Crime Stoppers at (216) 252-7463.
They are offering a reward of up to $2,000.
