RICHMOND HEIGHTS -- The superintendent and director of building and grounds for the Richmond Heights Local Schools have been charged with theft and bribery.
According to the Cuyahoga County prosecutor's office, charges against Superintendent Robert J. Moore II, 52, of Mentor and Richard R. Muse, 43, of Cleveland Heights are based on taped evidence that the two pressured a local business for $3,700 in cash in the past month.
Moore was an elementary principal before taking over as superintendent in 2012 for Linda Hardwick, who was removed for misusing district property.
The Cuyahoga County prosecutor's office executed search warrants at the school board offices and Moore's home Friday night.
The school board will hold a special meeting tonight to discuss their plan, which board president, Bobby Jordan, says is finding a smooth transition for students.
School officials say they are fully cooperating with police.
Indictments against the pair could be returned as early as this week.
