Solon: Unwanted night visitor starts trashing apartment

SOLON -- An Olmsted Township woman paid a predawn visit to a friend's apartment and ended up in the Solon City Jail.

Just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday, police were called to a SOM Center Road address. When they arrived, they spoke to a man who was standing outside.

He said he drove Michelle Rice, 37, of Olmsted Township to the apartment so she could remove property from a friend's apartment and that she and the friend were now arguing.

Officers entered the apartment building and heard arguing coming from inside the apartment. They saw a broken table and some other items lying on the floor, according to police.

Officers eventually located Rice and a man outside, where the man was trying to restrain Rice.

He told officers that Rice entered his home through an unlocked rear sliding door and became belligerent. She began throwing things and damaging property.

Police officers approached Rice and confirmed that she was intoxicated and she became uncooperative with them, according to the police report.

Rice was arrested and jailed for disorderly conduct, police said.
