Victim, suspected shooter identified in Twinsburg shooting case

Twinsburg incident leaves two dead

TWINSBURG - Officials have released the names of two people involved in a Sunday evening shooting in Twinsburg.

Authorities identified Jerry Robinson, 57, of Northfield, as the victim. Robert Waltzer, 58, of Twinsburg, is the suspected shooter.

Twinsburg Police responded to the report of a shooting on E. Idlewood Drive shortly before 6 p.m.

Officials found a man, later identified as Robinson, with multiple gunshot wounds to his stomach outside Waltzer's home.

He was taken to the Cleveland Clinic, where he later died from his injuries.

Waltzer reentered his home and didn't respond to multiple attempts to talk with authorities.

Authorities said tear gas was released into the residence after around four hours.

A SWAT team entered the home and found Waltzer. He apparently died after a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Authorities are continuing to investigate.
