A tough call for schools: Some close, some don't

It was another day of tough calls for school districts.

Hundreds closed school because of the snow, but some stayed open.

"I went out around 4 a.m. and was slipping in my car and had a hard time getting in my drive, so I canceled school to be safe," said Mentor Superintendent Matt Miller.

They have had a total of eight calamity days and are waiting to see if the legislature gives districts more.

Willoughby-Eastlake did not close schools, and there was a minor bus accident, but no one was hurt.

Parents said they had concerns schools weren't closed but understood it is a hard decision. Ohio may also decide to delay state testing because so much school has been missed.
