ROCKY RIVER -- It's a real live Rock & Roll school. The Paul Green School of is teaching kids of all ages how to rock.
With locations all over the country, Channel 3 News Education Reporter Kim Wheeler visited one of the two in Northeast Ohio.
When you hear them, it's hard to believe they are just teenagers. They are students at the Paul Green School of Rock in Rocky River.
The music director is Tommy Rich, a former drummer with Donnie Iris and the Cruisers.
His mission is to make sure his passion for Rock and Roll is passed on to the musicians of tomorrow.
"We get to feel like passing something on we love to another generation of motivated and interested people and that's a beautiful thing, " said Rich.
The school of rock opened about two years ago and it keeps growing. Students range from five years old to high school age. They promise to make you into a rock star, but you have to work for it.
"A kid coming into rehearsal has so many songs they need to be fluid. There are expectations."
The students receive private lessons each week and three hour rehearsals to prepare for the stage.
For many students, finding their passion in rock has helped them find their voice.
