Inspire your child: New resource for parents on children and play

CLEVELAND -- There is a new website that helps parents find the best toys and activities to spur their child's imagination.

CreativePlayPlus.com is a partnership with Case Western Reserve's Schubert Center for Child Studies, Step2 and Optiem, an interactive marketing company.

Research and advice on child development can be found on the website as well as suggestions for the types of play that inspire the imagination.

"It's a great resource for parents that they can respond to and talk to other parents about, " says Molly Irwin, Director of the Child Policy Initiative.

"Play develops creative thinking, problem solving and social interaction with peers," says Sandra Russ, a professor of psychology.
