AKRON, Ohio -- Students are back in class after a few unexpected days off at Ellet High School.
Classes were canceled at Ellet both Monday and Tuesday following a Saturday night fire. The flames caused damage mostly to an area that houses the school’s College and Career Education’s construction program.
“We are constructing walls around the work area at Ellet so we can get our work done while students are able to attend classes,” Akron Public Schools spokesperson Mark Williamson said in an e-mail Tuesday morning. “We can accomplish two things at once this way and not have to rush the cleanup repair or keep students out for an extended time.”
No injuries were reported with the fire, which remains under investigation.
