Extreme heat leads to early dismissals at several Cleveland schools

CLEVELAND - Several schools in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District will be closing early Wednesday as temperatures continue to rise. 

According to CMSD's website, the following buildings will be closed due to heat conditions:

  • Benjamin Franklin
  • Charles Eliot
  • Collinwood
  • Facing History New Tech @ Charles Mooney
  • Garrett Morgan
  • Iowa-Maple
  • Louis Agassiz
  • Tremont Montessori
  • Valley View Boys' Leadership Academy
  • William Cullen Bryant

The district added each school's staff is communicating with families to arrange transportation and other details. 

Wednesday's high temperatures will climb to 90 degrees.
